This clean up was something we did with almost no planning. We knew the route had a lot of cans and bits of trash. Eric, Cindy, Cody, Lindsey and I, picked out the route to bring us to Old Florida Rd. We got some trash bags and and picked up all the trash we could. The Savoy Mountain State Forest gave us permission to use the dumpsters behind their office for disposal.

1. Littering – If you’re using this Public Right of Way and find litter, bring it to the Savoy Mountain DCR Office (not the campground) on Central Shaft Rd.
260 Central Shaft Rd, Florida, MA 01247
Properly dispose of bagged trash in their dumpsters directly behind the building. If the office is open, let the staff know. If you have non-conforming items, like tires, electronics or furniture, you have to call first. 413 663 8469
2. Trespassing – The Right of Way is 17 feet on center of the trail alignment. There is one legal go-around and it is a long way away from the hardest obstacles. That means that any deviation from the trail is trespassing on state land or private property. STAY ON THE TRAIL.
